We are so excited to offer two weeks of summer camps in August 2023!
3-4 year olds (incoming and outgoing 3’s)
Amazing Animals August 14-18 “Amazing Animals” will focus on some of our preschoolers’ favorite animals. Each day will be devoted to a new animal group - polar animals, dinosaurs, farm animals, ocean animals, and rainforest/jungle animals. Each day’s activities will include books, crafts, and sensory activities to match the animals of the day. Think: water table for ocean animals, farm play set for farm animals, white rice/polar bears/pom pom sensory table for polar animals day, etc. |
*FULL*
4-5 year olds (incoming and outgoing 4’s) Awesome Authors August 7-11 “Awesome Authors” will explore a few beloved preschool authors. Each day will be devoted to a new author and a few of their popular books. Our 5 authors this year are Eric Carle (“The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” etc), James Dean (author of the Pete the Cat series), Mo Willems (author of “Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus!” and the Elephant and Piggie series), Anna Dewdney (author of the Llama Llama books), and Doreen Cronin (author of “Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type”). Preschoolers will get to explore toys that coordinate with the characters in the books and do crafts in the styles of some of the illustrations. |

FAQ's:
Do children need to be potty trained before attending camp?
Yes, we do ask that preschoolers are potty trained before they attend camp. We have great preschool-sized bathroom facilities and have built in lots of bathroom breaks and reminders into our days.
What’s the difference between the two camp weeks?
Our 3-4 year old “Amazing Animals” camp is geared towards incoming/outgoing 3’s preschoolers. So if you have a child who just finished our 3’s T/Th class - “Amazing Animals” is the camp for them! Or if you have a child starting our 3’s T/Th class in the fall of 2023, they also belong in the “Amazing Animals” 3-4 y.o. camp. The 4-5 y.o. “Awesome Authors” camp is for incoming 4’s (someone who’s about to start MWF 4’s class in the fall of 2023) or outgoing 4’s (someone who just finished the 4’s class and is headed for kindergarten/young 5's).
My child will be turning 3 in August, can they still do the summer camp?
Yes, as long as thy turn 3 years old before the first day of class.
Can my 4-year-old do both weeks?
Yes! A 4-year-old can do the 3-4 y.o. "Amazing Animals” week AND the 4-5 y.o. “Amazing Authors” week.
We will not be part of FPP next year. Can my child still attend camp?
Absolutely! Summer camp is for everyone - whether you're currently part of FPP, are going to start attending in the fall, or not part of FPP at all. Even if you're part of a different preschool in Holland, we hope you'll consider joining FPP for a fun week (or two) in August!
Do you offer scholarships?
Unfortunately, we are not offering camp scholarships this year.
When is payment due?
Payment is required to reserve your spot in camp and is due immediately upon registration. You will be able to pay online with a credit card/bank account transfer, or you can drop off a check in our secure black metal mailbox outside the preschool door. If you are mailing a check, please email us at firstpresbpreschool@gmail.com so that we know payment is on its way.
What if I need to cancel my child’s participation in camp? Will I get my money back?
You can get a full refund through June 1. Cancellations made June 1 - July 31 will receive 50% of their camp cost back (not including bank or credit card fees). Cancellations made on August 1 or later will not be reimbursed, unless the cancellation is due to an illness. Cancellations due to illness can be made up until the 1st day of camp and will be reimbursed in full.
We will be traveling for part of the camp week. Can my preschooler attend part of camp and can I pay a reduced rate?
Your preschooler can attend as many (or as few) of camp days as they want to, but the camp rate remains the same.
Who will be teaching the camps?
Each camp will be led by a lead teacher and an assistant. Miss Jenny Telgenhof, our 3’s teacher, will lead the 3-4 y.o. “Amazing Animals” camp. Miss Haley Yin, our 4’s teacher, will lead the 4-5 y.o. “Awesome Authors” camp. Miss Marina Tronrud, our program coordinator, will be the teacher’s assistant for both camp weeks. Please feel free to check out their bios on our preschool webpage.
Will the preschoolers get a snack during camp?
Yes, snack will be provided by the preschool, following our licensing requirements. Snack will consist of 2 food groups - a grain and a fruit, veggie, or dairy product. A menu will be emailed to participants in July.
What about allergies?
We are a nut-free preschool. If your child has any other allergies, please reach out to our program coordinator at firstpresbpreschool@gmail.com. We want to make sure our preschoolers stay safe and healthy and we’re happy to work with your family!
Can my preschooler attend camp with a friend?
Absolutely! You don’t have to be part of FPP to attend camp, so invite your friends and neighbors! However, registration is on an individual first come first serve basis, so please make sure you and your friend submit your applications ASAP.
When will I find out if my child has secured a spot in camp?
You should hear back from us within 48 hours of submitting an application. If you have not heard from our program coordinator in a few days, please email us at firstpresbpreschool@gmail.com.
