We are proud of our dedicated staff. Our teachers and program coordinator have years of experience and specialized training. They are familiar with the needs of preschool-aged children and committed to our families and program. They continue to hone their skills through workshops, classes and professional development.
Amy VanderMeer: Three-Year-Olds Teacher
Amy is so happy to be returning to the Preschool community as a teacher. First Presbyterian Preschool is a very special place for her family. Her daughter, Annie Lou, and son, Sam, are preschool graduates, and their time at First Pres was a treasure.
Lise Steeby: Three-Year-Olds Aide
Lise holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Calvin College and an M.A. in Early Childhood Education from Grand Valley State University. Lise’s three children attended First Presbyterian Preschool. Lise has has been a treasured member of our staff since 2010. Prior to First Presbyterian, Lise taught preschool for six years.
Megan Heller: Four-Year-Olds Teacher
Megan received her B.A. in Elementary Education from DePauw University. Megan has been a beloved teacher on our staff since 1990. Prior to teaching at First Presbyterian, Megan worked as a preschool substitute teacher and preschool program coordinator for five years. She has also taught in a special education center.
Haley Yin: Four-Year-Old & Enrichment Teacher
Haley received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a Spanish Major and a Minor in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University. After graduating, she stayed home to care for her two daughters who now attend Zeeland Public Schools and First Presbyterian Preschool. Haley has been involved at First Presbyterian Preschool since 2013 as a cooperative parent. She also served as Treasurer of the preschool board.
Jenny Telgenhof: Four-Year-Olds Aide
Jenny attended Gettysburg College and earned a BA in Psychology, along with an Elementary Education Teaching Certificate. She has worked as the Elementary Director of The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holland until she had the first of three daughters. Abigail is now 15 years old, Emily is 12 and Maggie is 9. They all attended First Presbyterian Preschool in both the 3's and 4's classes and now attend Holland Public Schools, where her husband, Dan, teaches and coaches. While her daughters were at preschool she served on the board as the Membership Chairperson. For past two years she have also been the gym teacher at FPP. In addition, she substitute teaches and volunteers regularly at HPS. I am so excited to continue my relationship with the preschool!
Jodi Ozimek: Program Coordinator
Jodi Ozimek is thrilled to be in the role of Program Coordinator for our preschool. She began her involvement with the preschool as a cooperative parent when her son Simon (5 ½) joined the preschool in 2012. She quickly fell in love with the preschool and its amazing community.
She also served on the board, first as Treasurer and then President. She is eager to continue her involvement with the preschool in a more formal position. She is also the proud parent Vivian who will be in Miss Megan’s class next year. Jodi received her B.A. in theatre from Michigan State University and her M.F.A. in Costume Design and Production from Purdue University. Prior to her job as mom, she was an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Michigan State University.
