As a mom, I question my decisions constantly. Like you, I want to do what is best for my children - and sometimes that road isn't always clear. When I got the point where I needed to start thinking about education for my children, I was overwhelmed. There are so many choices! And then there is the whole challenge of cost and registering early enough to ensure there is a space in your program of choice.
First Presbyterian Preschool was my first choice because of philosophy, location, cost and family involvement. And as it turns out, this is one choice I am certain was the right one for our family. I have no doubt that play-based learning is the most developmentally appropriate education environment for 3-5 year olds, inspiring their love for learning and building important social skills.
My oldest child attended First Presbyterian Preschool for two years. She was well prepared for Kindergarten, socially and academically. The preschool day routine taught her what it means to be a student. She learned to take pride in her schoolwork with the projects she did in preschool. First Presbyterian Preschool gave her the foundation she needed for Kindergarten reading and math. Her preschool teachers were truly caring and made a positive and lasting impression on her. Play-based learning was a key to building her confidence and desire to learn.
